"Who am I, anyway? Am I my resume?"
Well, for the purposes of my website I'm including that and a bio, so you can get to know me and my work a little better.
Critically acclaimed and award-winning Broadway actor, singer and concert performer, Jason Danieley, has had a career that covers 25 plus years of originating roles in many new musicals (Floyd Collins, The Full Monty, Curtains, The Visit, Pretty Woman, Secondhand Lions), to singing around the world with major symphony orchestras (Boston and New York Pops, NY, Czech and, LA Philharmonics), filmed performances on PBS (South Pacific, Carousel, Sondheim Birthday Celebration, Ring them Bells: Music of Kander & Ebb) as well as cabaret performances across the country.
His collaboration as director on Lynn Ahrens: A Lyric Life for the Lyrics & Lyricists series at NYC’s 92nd St Y was a “remarkably impressive” success and started him down the career path of directing. During the height of the COVID pandemic, Mr. Danieley created original content, wrote and hosted several episodes of the live-stream web series Stars In The House – A special benefit episode for CSC (Cancer Support Community) premiering clips from his new concert video release Broadway & Beyond, Floyd Collins Reunion, Curtains Reunion which premiered the music video “Show People” from that musical. He conceived, wrote, directed and produced the music video to benefit The Actor’s Fund. He recently directed Rupert Holmes’ The Mystery of Edwin Drood at NKU (Northern Kentucky University) and this summer he will be co-creating, with Keith Lockhart, and directing a concert Remembering Stephen Sondheim for The Boston Pops at Tanglewood. Along with his performing and directing Mr. Danieley has held master classes in song interpretation for regional theatres and universities around the country, and co-created and directed many of the concerts he performed with his late wife, Broadway star, Marin Mazzie.
